Cheep ! Cheep !

I think this is the cheep-est card I have ever made…( yup, we were doing homophones and homonyms in class this week !)  All I used from my stash was ink, base card and sticky stuff – the rest is this month’s freebie from Papercraft Essentials

Margaret C

I used the sketch from retrosketches, a site I have lurked on for ages but never entered. Well, there’s a first for everything, and I really want to enter more challenges this year ! The wee owlie is paper-pieced BTW. This card is for my lovely teenager niece – cute but not baby-ish. Happy me !

Incidentally, sorry about the shocking photos, we are currently under snow storm conditions so I ain’t taking my babies out in that…. ( Ok, my real baby is out in it and having a blast !!! )

…it’s the CASology challenge word.

And kinda how I’m feeling. Work is very hard just now – a colleague is making my classroom life very difficult ( yup, not a child, a colleague…) – hence the need for therapy on a Tuesday evening. Incidentally, this card is going to another colleague who is off ill just now. School’s so fun…. (well, when I’m doin’ the teaching thing it actually is !)

I am CASEing Heather again ( what do you mean who ??? We talked about her last time – the fabulous one ! See, I knew you knew !!!  ) I loved her Circle Vignettes when they popped up in October and have been meaning to CASE them ever since – this scheme jumped into my head.

Me likey !

I also chuckled when I saw who won the last CASology challenge – Heather ( yup, the fabulous one ) I hadn’t realised she’d entered, and, if I had won with my CASE of her, I probably would have felt a bit guilty…. I try to make my cards different enough from my CASEs so when I enter challenges there is enough of my own design work in there. and I always give credit in my posts for my inspiration/CASEd work, but I do sometimes wonder where that design line is …. Anyhow, I’m glad Heather won because she deserves a bunch of recognition for her ah-may-zing stuff ( seriously, go see, CASE her – I’ve already Pinned her latest card !!!)

So, stuff used on this card:

snowflakes ? and snowflake bird… ummmmm… Impression Obsession, I think, but I can’t find them, sorry !!

Sentiment I do know, it’s a Papertrey Ink Fillable Frame #10

Now go and see Heather !! Say hi from me !!

Thank you !

This was a first try at a thank-you card for my class’ Christmas presents.

I just don’t know…..

MArgaret C

There’s nothing wrong with it as such. Perhaps the red isn’t red enough.

But I just don’t know….

Anyway, I’ll use it a some point, maybe it’s a grower !!!

Main image is Papertrey Ink’s Signature Series:Cupcake and matching die.Sentiment is also PTI ; Think Big Favourites #1 The backgound flourishes were a freebie from a magazine, as was the Candi embellishment (but you can buy that here!).

I am entering it into the new A Passion For Papertrey’s Challenge – Thank You cards !

We’re due snow this weekend !!! Squeak !!!

Thank you !

Oof ! It’s been a lo-o-o-o-ng week…. Back to school, DD still on a sugar high (I want COLA! I WANT COLA !!!) and DH with a dental abcess ( poor, poor him 😦 ) So I’m going to have some chill time crafting and hopefully lower my blood pressure and shoulders….

This year I recieved a record 19 presents from my class. That’s out of a class of 24 kids. One kid who isn’t even in my class gave me a present because I had helped him with the school show.

I feel very loved.

However, the one disadvantage of so many thoughtful gifts is that I believe I should send a thank you note to each child – modelling, modelling !!! I finally got some time to sit down and came up with this card:

Margaret C

It’s loosely based on this beauty by Debby Hughes – she makes pretty !

All resources are Papertrey Ink except the cardstock and ribbon:  click for the die, images and sentiment !

This is going into the new A Passion for Papertrey Challenge: Thank You cards. And thank-you ladies, for your constant inspiraion and motivation !

First outing !

I REALLY  like this card.

And all of a few minutes to make – the hardest part was lining up the post-it notes ! I CASEd this from the fabulous Heather, and it was an opportunity to use my longed for Lovely As A Tree set from Stampin’ Up for the first ever time. I swithered about putting a sentiment on it, but I like the sparseness of the card and the wintry feel (I hope) it evokes.

Hmmmm, ‘wintry’ and ‘sparse’… this is my mum’s birthday card !!!! Oh dear, well, hopefully the love with which it is made and sent smothers the negativity of these adjectives ! Happy birthday, mum !

I am going to make this another first – first ever entry into the CASology Challenge. The key word is ‘winter’ – um, yup ! I like the idea of keyword challenges – I suspect this site may become a favourite !
