1 Year Old !!!

My friend’s wee girl is turning 1 today and I rustled up this card for her….

but I felt it need a little somethin’ somethin’ so I remade it with embossing on the tag.

And forgot to photograph it. Ooops ( it did look better )

This card is a CASE from Meredith’s over at A Delightful Waste of Time  (although I wouldn’t call browsing her blog a waste of time – some great inspiration, people !!)

* Dies : Tag Sale #2 and numbers  – both Papertrey Ink.

* all else is stash

Just realised, there is no inky stamping on this card :O I don’t think I’ve EVER made a card without ink of some kind before !!!! Entering it into the new challenge over at A Passion For Papertrey – Your Number’s Up !

What’s the story, (morning glory)? PTI 5th bday

I was comissioned to make a birthday card for a 5yr old girl – kinda easy as DD isn’t that far off 5…

….so I asked DD her advice…

“Cards should tell a story” she said firmly. Then showed me how her birthday cards told a story.

Kid has a point.

So we looked through my stamps, picked out a few ideas and I came up with this…

Hopefully it’ll do for both the comissioner and my picky DD ! Apparently the story is “pat-a-cake”….

* Images: frame, cake and pun sentiment from Tiny Treats: Valentine by Papertrey Ink

* Sentiment: Happy Birthday from Little Bitty Bird by Papertrey Ink, 5 from ?

* Doily die from Papertrey Ink

I am entering this into the new A Passion For Papertrey Challenge – Your Number’s Up ! – needing you to use numbers on your card. I think this is going to be another bumper entry challenge as I have a significant birthday coming up and a number of children’s; I like making numbered cards for children, remember how excited you got for birthdays then ?!!!

Make a wish – no tiredness please…..

This card is almost a direct CASE from a gorgeous card by the lady who blogs under Random Reflections (I am so sorry – I can’t find your name and I can’t click on your About Me section, but you make great cards !)

I’ve made a girly version of her card;

I am entering it into the new challenge at A Passion For Papertrey as I have not used this spotty ribbon by Papertrey Ink before (or the sentiment, or some of the papers….!) Here are the deets;

Sentiment: Think Big Sentiments #1

DP paper is Raspberry Fizz, as is cardstock and satin dots (?) ribbon.

Last entry. Too tired now ….

Another APFP and Tuesday Morning Sketch card

Here’s a card that I am entering for two challenges, the A Passion For Papertrey  – Inky Love Required, and – a new site for me – Tuesday Morning Sketches. Deets below;

Images and sentiment are all from PTI Tag-Its#3, which I have never used, and the DP is PTI Turning A New Leaf. This was a hard card to make !!

This card is based on this week’s challenge in Tuesday Morning Sketches #171 so I am entering it there too !

Mega tired…

But fighting it 😦

Sentiment: Papertrey Inks’s Think Big Sentiments #4

I am going to enter this into A Passion For Papertrey’s latest challenge – Inky Love Required – as this is the first time the flower stamps have been used.

I have been continuing to struggle a bit this week – still fighting off the exhausting effects of an infection, then tooth pulling and Parents’ Night and inservices and, well, just life…. My warning signals for over-tiredness are flashing away so I need to try and pacify them a bit. Hence a smidge of card-making therapy. Now, I know this isn’t that impressive – but I think it’s simple and reasonably effective, and I will use it.  Next on the therapy list, hot shower, clean jammies, cuppa and an episode of The Paradise before bed. Fingers crossed it works.

Unused – but NOT unloved !!

I needed a card for my aunt’s birthday this weekend so I decided to combine it with the new A Passion For Papertrey’s challenge – Inky Love Required. Incidentally, did you see that I was one of the Passionistas on the last challenge – didya ???!!! 😀

To my shame, I have several stamps that haven’t had the love they deserve – but probably none more so than the beauty that is Vintage Picnic. I adored this set, bought it and have only ever used one sentiment from it. Ridiculous. So here it is, the debut of Vintage Picnic on Thread, Ink and Me…

Sentiment and image are from Papertrey Ink’s Vintage Picnic , and the diecut doily is also PTI.

Very, very tired this weekend. I have been fighting toothache for three weeks because at the emergency app I had, they couldn’t touch it as an infection was in full whack, and gave me antibiotics. I ended up having it taken out on Thursday with my dentist commenting it was the biggest abcess he had ever seen …nice…. So just trying to chill and rest before hitting a week full of panto rehearsals, parents’ night and inservices. Oh maaaaan……
