Roam if you want to …roam around the world !

It was posting an old card as an entry for A Passion for Papertrey’s latest challenge that inspired this card.

That and the realisation that I have NO cards in the Birthday Card Book. Eeek….

Anyhow, this card is for my SIL who’s the next-but-one birthday. And no, I haven’t done the next birthday. Yet.

I have always seen this Papertrey Ink stamp as a male-card stamp. Oh so sexist of me. Particularly as it is so appropriate for a seasoned world traveller like SIL. She has hit every continent with the exception of Antartica – so all bets are off there ! She has also lived for a couple of years in Bolivia supporting missionary work, so I guess she’s clocked up a few miles on planes. However, I bet they were’t as bright as these (paws off the designs, Mr. Branson…!)

Images: plane and banner are Papertrey Ink’s Fly Away, city names are Inkadinkado

Inks: Planes are stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and coloured with Emboss pens and a silver gel pen, background is sponges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Words are white embossed with detail powder.

Ribbon is 3mm satin wrapped around.

I learned a lot with this card. Most importantly that the clear Emboss pen ain’t. Clear – that is. It’s pale blue… but I’ll know for another time. And secondly, I REALLY should add a cloud die to the wish list. It’s just not as exciting as this, this or this….

Twinkle, twinkle, little cards….

The last Papertrey Ink Blog hop generated a lot of really cool cards that I bookmarked to CASE. Having been off the card-making kick for the last wee while, just playing without demands is so relaxing and inspiring.

All these cards use H2Os as their basis colouring – although I must dig our my watercolour crayons to really try (cos I never have – oops… !) All other deets are below the cards. And, as always, these are for the box.

Thank you all, ladies, your gorgeous creations really lifted my soul !

Couple of cards

I know, I know – it’s been a while. We had a particularly awful end to the school year as a pupil died while on a weekend break with his family. An event like that affects the whole community, and it was hard to deal with in such a limited time before school broke up. I’m beginning to relax a little, but my heart is still with the family.

We have a friend staying with us just now, and their brother has just had a promotion at work. DF asked me if I had a suitable card – nope, but I can make one !!

* image and sentiment is Elzybells

* paper is a freebie from a papercraft magazine

I also had to make a card for a friend who moved house last week – and I have to say, I’m kinda chuffed with this one. it’s nice and cheery – just what she needs as I think we’ve had our summer up here in Scotland. The rain is now pelting off the windows… !!

* wee chipboard house is from Crafty Individuals, and is covered with a local property guide.

* heart is a Hero Arts

* paper-pieced tree was a magazine freebie – sorry !

That’s your lot just now, but we are now on the Summer holidays and I have plans for LOTS of cards !! (umm, and baking, and sewing, and there’s that holiday, oh, and getting ready for school….. !!!)
